It contains driver software for Lucent WaveLAN/IEEE PCMCIA wireless network adapters for FreeBSD 3.x (and 4.x). This driver has already been merged into the FreeBSD-CURRENT and FreeBSD-STABLE source trees and will be available in the next release; you should only download the code from here if you have FreeBSD 3.2-RELEASE or earlier and would like to add WaveLAN/IEEE driver support to your system
 

FreeBSD 2/6/11 Mbps Aironet Device Driver

It contains driver software for Aironet 4500 and 4800 series wireless network adapters for FreeBSD 3.x. PCMCIA, PCI and ISA devices are supported. This driver will ultimately be merged into FreeBSD-STABLE and FreeBSD-CURRENT. Support for 4.0-CURRENT is planned however I'm waiting for some of the Plug and Play support to be finalized before I complete the changes. The code here can be used to add support for Aironet devices to an existing 3.2-RELEASE or 3.3 system
 
 

Linux 2/6/11 Mbps WaveLAN/IEEE 802.11 Device Driver

It directs you to Andy's web site where you can find driver software for Lucent Technologies' WaveLAN/IEEE wireless LAN card. You can use any other WaveLAN device driver that supports SPY function (SIOCGIWSPY and SIOCSIWSPY) that is needed for measureing signal strength of incoming packets, which enables SNR-based handoff at mobile that runs Cellular IP v1.1.  If your WaveLAN device driver does not support this funtion, we recommend you to download and use Andy's driver for WaveLAN/IEEE.

Linux 2/6/11 Mbps Aironet Device Driver

You can use any device driver that works at your Linux system.  Most pcmcia suites in Linux kernel includes and supports the device driver for Aironet card.  However, with current aironet driver, signal measurement of incoming signal seems not to be supported.  Hence, SNR-based handoff at mobile that runs Cellular IP v1.1 is not currently supported.
